Team Mikie Sherrill
Mikie Sherrill is a strong candidate for U.S. Congress for New Jersey's 11 District, with a real chance to win this seat, now held by retiring Republican Rodney Frelinghuysen. And she is firmly in the crosshairs of local and national Republicans who want to keep NJ 11 in the Republican column. Our support can make a real difference in the outcome of this race.
Our Adopt a Candidate Team Mikie Sherrill has an action plan, and welcomes all who want to join them, in any or all of the following activities!

Immigrants Assistance Center Summer Fundraiser
Dear Friends of the Immigrants’ Assistance Center,
I am pleased to invite you to attend our Summer Fundraiser on August 9 at 6:00 – 9:00pm where we will gather under a tent at the beautiful Madeiran Heritage Museum in New Bedford in support of much-needed services to immigrants in our community. We are grateful for the generous participation of United Health Care as our platinum sponsor.
For over 47 years the Immigrants’ Assistance Center has been the SouthCoast region’s first responder to new arrivals, offering often confused and disoriented newcomers a trusted touchstone as they encounter the American experience. We help immigrants apply for citizenship or a green card, secure benefits for US-born children, connect to medical care for elders, get a driver’s license, or more acutely obtain legal assistance in the face of detainment or deportation.
With recent political and social changes, we find ourselves in an unprecedented crisis as thousands of undocumented immigrants, including those who until recently had legal protections, are enmeshed in a state of extreme anxiety and fear. In this region and nationally, detainment and deportations of law-abiding, tax paying non-citizens is at an all time high. Crimes are going unreported, domestic violence is unaddressed, and parents are hesitating to send their children to school or seek medical care. The number of clients seeking our help has grown 40% in the past 2 years.
To continue providing critical services, we need your direct support. Tickets to our Summer Fundraiser are $50 per person. For those who can, additional donations above the ticket price are deeply appreciated. And if you are unable to attend, we ask you to consider giving a donation in support of our work. Please click here to buy your tickets and/or donate. You may also call our offices at 508-996-8113.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and I hope to see you on August 9.
